Foos(eye)ball…

We went to a  wedding today.  It was one of Mina’s friends who got married.  Apparently, the friend’s favorite color is pink.  Somehow, we all managed to wear pink.  We are not the type of family that has EVER tried to match.  In fact, we have probably looked strangely at those who do.  However, we drove south of Atlanta looking like an invasion of pink.  I must confess, I wasn’t that bothered by it.  Could this be brave new waters that we are venturing into?  I don’t think so.

Check out the pictures below…

Having a wife who really doesn’t like for her picture to be taken, I have to steal shots when I can…

I think that she looks awesome.  What wasn’t so awesome was the foosball table that was in one of the rooms at the wedding.  Watching Thomas and Ava play with it, I quickly realized the possible danger.  Check out this picture…

Notice where Thomas’s hand is.  Follow that rod to Ava’s face.  Yea…it’s really that close.  Kids who are two and three-years-old don’t really know how to play foosball.  To them, the goal is to ram the handles back and forth as hard as they can.  Ava’s head is just the right height to end up with a rod going right into it.  Right after this picture, I managed to distract them into another part of the building!

If something presents a probable danger, why keep playing with it?  Perhaps that is why God has given to His people some guidelines by which to live.  After Moses had given the Ten Commandments, we find him explaining, ”Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.”  - Deuteronomy 5:33

Live…Prosper…Prolong days.  I’m discovering more and more each day why “Father” is a good title for God.  As I experience the dynamics of being a father to my children, I begin to understand more about our Heavenly Father’s interaction with His children…us.

May I learn to appreciate the guidelines that He has given.
