Building Built-ins…
Mina and the kids were gone for the last few days. While they were away, I began a project that has been in the plans for over a year…built-ins. Our house was built in 1940. Built-in bookshelves used to be in the wall on either side of our fireplace. Both sides currently have a smooth wall, but in the attic one can see the hollow space and framing inside the wall.
I only made it through a little way into the project before they got back last night. The next step will be to cut the hole in the wall on the left, and install the left built-in. The unit will have doors that go five feet up with book shelves on top. Behind the doors will be a hidden desk. It will be much like an old secretary desk. Check out some of the pictures…
When the kids got home, they tought it was a play place for them. I guess it can be until it is finished…
